Board members
Marie Fossum Strannegård has been the charman of the board since July 2023. CEO at AxSol. Prior to this role, she served as the CEO of IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute. Her background includes leadership positions at Fortum and Ericsson, as well as being a partner at EY Education. Marie holds a BSc in System Analysis from Karlstads Universitet and an MBA in Strategic Management from Norges Handelshøyskole
Linda Hernström has been a board member since July 2023, currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at AxSol. Prior to her current role, she held senior leadership positions within the telecommunications industry. Linda’s international experience includes studying abroad on multiple occasions. She holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.
Philip Hallsmar has been a board member since April 2023, currently serves as an Investment Manager at AxSol. His background includes experience in strategy, business development, investments, and acquisitions both as a management consultant and during his tenure at SEB and Klarna. Johan Berfenstam has been a board member since 2023. He currently serves as the CEO of Axfast, a real estate company, a position he has held since 2020. Prior to this role, Johan was responsible for investments at the real estate fund Niam. He also held leadership positions in project development at Skanska in both Sweden and Poland. Johan holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and has studied economics at Stockholm University .
Jesper Petersson Hemstad has been a board member since 2021. He currently serves as the CEO of Ovacon and holds additional board positions in privately owned companies within the construction and real estate sectors. Prior to his current role, Jesper worked as a management consultant at Accenture and Navigio. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Linköping Universit
Johan Öhnell has been a board member since 2014. He previously served as the CEO of the company from October 2017 to December 2018. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Advisor at Solkompaniet, with a specific focus on the Solelkommissionen. Johan is a graduate in economics from Uppsala University. His background includes founding and leading Telge Energi for 16 years. Additionally, he serves as the Vice Chairman at Ekobanken and is the Chairman of Telge Energi Vind ekonomisk förening .
Lars Hedström, founder and board member, holds a doctorate from KTH (the Royal Institute of Technology) and is a civil engineer from the Institute of Technology in Linköping. His journey with solar cells began in 2002, initially at Switchpower and later at Solkompaniet. Lars served as the CEO of Solkompaniet until October 2017
Owners
AxSol, the majority owner of Solkompaniet, is the youngest subsidiary of Axel Johnson. Established in 2020, AxSol was created to consolidate the group’s investments in leading Nordic companies within the solar energy sector. Axel Johnson, a prominent family-owned conglomerate, is undergoing rapid transformation. As part of the group’s renewal goal 10/50, half of the activities within the conglomerate are envisioned to be ventures not currently undertaken by Axel Johnson. The commitment to AxSol and solar energy aligns with this renewal effort.
Solkompaniet also has the following major shareholders:
Petter Sjöström, founder and project developer. A graduate in Business Economics from the Gothenburg School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Linköping University. He has been working with solar cells since 2002, initially at Switchpower and later at Solkompaniet

Johan Markman, Master of Science in Industrial Economics and Organization from KTH (the Royal Institute of Technology). Co-owner and board member of Camfil AB, a leading global air filter company with a turnover of over SEK 6 billion. Other assignments: chairman of the board of Atteviks Bil and Trosa Stadshotell.
Mats Lönnqvist, board member 2015-2021. Conducts investment activities in the company Värdeinvest since 1976. Currently chairman of the Thunderful Group. His professional background is as director of economics and finance in a number of major Swedish groups, including Securum, Esselte, SAS and PostNord.
Pär Svärdson, The founder and CEO of the online pharmacy Apotea.se, and also the founder of the online bookstore Adlibris
Anders Eriksson, A board member from 2016 to 2021. With over 20 years of experience as an analyst and global head of analysis at SEB, he specializes in equity and credit analysis. Anders holds a degree in Industrial Economics from Linköping University and has been running his own investment business since 2016
IBC SOLAR AG, a leading global provider of solar cells, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging solutions. Their product range includes solar parks and solar cell installations for both businesses and households. IBC SOLAR collaborates with a network of Premium Partners and supports them through their proprietary design program, PV Manager, for solar system planning. Founded by Udo Möhrstedt in Bad Staffelstein, Germany in 1982, IBC SOLAR AG continues to be led by Möhrstedt as the chairman. The company has an international presence with regional offices and partner companies in over 30 countries.
Employee ownership
During the first quarter of 2019, Solkompaniet invited all employees to purchase stock options in the company. As a result, the company now has current or former employees who are shareholders. In 2021, Solkompaniet extended the invitation once again, allowing all employees to buy additional stock options in the company.
